The reckoning coming for SaaS ERPs
For two decades, businesses have been pushed into cloud ERPs that lock your data in someone else's servers, charge per seat until access gets expensive, and raise prices once you're too embedded to leave. Implementations drag on for months, staff quietly go back to spreadsheets, and when a vendor is acquired or shuts down, your operations go with it.
That model is breaking. Celerp exists to replace it with something businesses actually own: a complete ERP, inventory, manufacturing, accounting, CRM and more, that you run on your own hardware, own outright, and can never be locked out of.
A different model
- Yours to own. Self-hosted, your data on your own machine, exportable any time. No lock-in, no data held hostage.
- No per-seat tax. The core app is free, with unlimited user accounts. When your whole team works together, it's one flat price, never per head.
- Open and extensible. Built on a Code Elastic Layer that anyone can extend, with a growing community of developers and businesses contributing modules, integrations and fixes. Developed in the open on GitHub and source-available, with the default modules under MIT.
Who is behind Celerp
Celerp is backed by Data Universal and was founded by Noah Severs, who spent 20 years building ERP systems for factories, wholesalers and gemstone companies. Before Celerp, he built GemCloud, a gemstone trading platform ultimately acquired by Gemfields (LSE: GEM). After two decades of watching capable businesses get trapped by software they couldn't really afford to set up, run, or ever escape, he built Celerp as the system he wished those companies had.
It's deliberately built so it doesn't depend on any one person or company. Celerp is developed in the open with a community of contributors; anyone can read the code, build their own modules, or run their own copy. Data Universal supports the project and operates the optional Celerp Connect services, and your data always stays on your own machine, never trapped.
