Encrypted backup
Celerp Connect Backup stores an encrypted copy of your database in the cloud. Your local app takes the backup, encrypts it, and uploads it - Celerp cannot read your data.
Encrypted backup requires a Connect plan or higher ($29/mo). Includes 7 daily backups and 20 GB storage. See pricing
How It Works
- On your configured schedule (or manually), Celerp takes a
pg_dumpof your local Postgres database - The dump is compressed and encrypted with a key derived from your Celerp Connect credentials
- The encrypted file is uploaded to Celerp's S3-compatible storage
- Celerp stores only the opaque encrypted blob - it cannot be decrypted without your credentials
Setup
Subscribe to Cloud or higher
Go to celerp.com/pricing and subscribe to the Connect plan or higher.
Enable backup in Celerp

Retention Policy
| Backup type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Daily backups | 7 most recent |
| Weekly backups | 4 most recent |
| Monthly backups | 12 most recent |
Restore
- Go to Settings → Cloud → Backup → Restore
- Select the backup you want to restore from the list
- Click Download - the encrypted backup is downloaded to your machine
- Celerp decrypts and restores the backup automatically
Warning: Restoring a backup replaces your current database. This cannot be undone. Celerp will ask you to confirm before proceeding.
What's Backed Up
A Celerp backup includes both the database and all attached files:
- All inventory items and their full event history
- All documents (invoices, POs, quotes, credit notes)
- All CRM contacts, deals, and notes
- All accounting data (journal entries, chart of accounts)
- All user accounts and company settings
- All attached files - images, PDFs attached to records, and AI uploads
Your entire data set is captured in a single .celerp-backup archive. On restore, both the database and all files are fully recovered.
Storage Usage
You can check your current storage usage in Settings → Cloud → Backup → Usage. A typical Celerp database with 10,000 items and 5 years of documents compresses to under 100 MB.
